Such a neat little place! Right off of clear lake on Main Street and full of history! The blue saloon is absolutely delicious! We sat outside and listened to live music in the outdoor patio area while eating our dinner. Such a cool experience. The hotel has such a cool story and has been there since the 1800’s. Nice little stop on our way to Fort Bragg
The Tallman Hotel is a very special place. The facilities are beautiful, quaint, clean and have a rich history, located in a more remote patch of Upper Lake, CA. The staff were some of the kindest people I have ever met and really made me feel welcome. The surrounding area is tranquil offering ample opportunity for hikes and relaxation (highly recommend Wilbur Hot Springs if you're in the area as well). I had a wonderful stay at Tallman and would highly recommend.

Our room was spotless, beautifully designed, and had that cozy, boutique feel that made it hard to leave! The staff? Absolutely top-notch—warm, welcoming, and genuinely eager to make our stay special. We especially loved the peaceful garden areas, the soaking tubs, and the attention to every little detail. Located in the heart of beautiful Lake County, it’s the perfect escape for relaxation, wine tasting, and a bit of adventure. We left feeling refreshed, spoiled, and already planning our next visit. If you're looking for a unique, relaxing getaway with luxury and personality, Tallman Hotel is a must!
Stayed at the Tallman last night,and happy to report the pool,cottage,Blue Wing restaurant were all in fine form. However,the breakfast has room for improvement. There was no oatmeal available so I asked and the desk/food provider said no more oatmeal these days,so I asked for cereal,which he said he’d bring out but apologized the cook had overcooked the granola,which was okay… the mini croissants were good but some tastier muffins,or even scrambled eggs would really liven the taste buds,as well a soft classical music?
What a wonderful hotel! Peaceful setting with mature trees, fountain and a historic hotel building that has been lovingly restored. On-site parking with two Tesla destination, chargers, and a third charger for other electric vehicles. Small salt water swimming pool in the back is quiet and secluded.
My wife often travels to the area for work and always raves about how well she is treated by the staff. I got the pleasure of joining her this time, and can confirm that staff take such good care of their guests. We travel a lot and stay in lots of hotels. This gem is lovely, charming, and comfortable. It feels like a great bed and breakfast and you will certainly feel at home. The rooms are very clean and cozy, and each offers something unique (and practical). This place is historical and VERY charming. You will not be disappointed when you stay here!
